Course overview
The OTHM Level 3 Certificate in Python, offered by Courses 4U, gives learners the essential skills to write programs in the Python programming language for a variety of purposes. It suits people who are new to Python and have little programming knowledge, such as students or professionals who want to advance their technical skills and career.
Learners cover the syntax, structure and good programming practice in Python, moving from basic 'Hello World' programs in interactive Jupyter notebooks to more complex programs that use a range of data types, functions, classes and control flow across multiple files. On completion, learners can build programs such as text-based games, simple automation scripts and programs for data analysis.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual and OTHM rates Level 3 Certificates as equivalent to GCE AS/A Levels. It carries 32 credits and consists of four mandatory units. The Total Qualification Time (TQT) is 320 hours, and the Guided Learning Hours (GLH) are 160.

Entry Requirements
• Typically aged 16 and above
• Relevant Level 2 Diploma qualification or equivalent qualification
• Or GCSEs in 5 subjects or equivalent, including Mathematics and Physics at grade C/5 or above
• Or mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme)

Certification
The Certificate is issued by OTHM, the awarding organisation. Courses 4U is an Accredited Centre for OTHM qualifications and the Centre Number is DC2009448. See a sample certificate issued by OTHM. Please note that OTHM does not issue printed certificates but an e-certificate, to avoid piracy and forgery. As a learner, you can order a printed version from the OTHM portal on receiving the details.
Progressions
Successful completion of the OTHM Level 3 Certificate in Python gives learners access to a wide range of academic progression, including the OTHM Level 4 Diploma or the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Cyber Security.

Assessment
All units within this qualification are assessed and internally quality assured by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. A judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the assessor. Specific assessment guidance and relevant marking criteria for each unit are made available in the Assignment Brief document.
The assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
Enrolment Process
Step 1: Complete the Online Enrolment form
Kindly upload - Proof of identity (Passport or Photo Drivers Licence), previous qualifications, CV and work experience letters if applicable for exemption or Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL).
Step 2: Course 4 U will issue a Conditional Offer Letter
The offer letter has details of the Bank payment and how to make payment online via the secure sage pay system.
Step 3: Registration with awarding organisation
As the registration process is completed, several emails to set up the course logins will be sent within the hour.
Step 4: Online Induction
