Course overview
The OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Cyber Security, delivered by Courses 4U, gives learners a solid background in the theoretical and practical skills needed to understand the range of cyber security risks that face individuals and organisations today. Learners gain a background in fundamental topics in computer science and mathematics, a broad understanding of information technology, computer architecture, networks and operating systems, and practical skills to develop digital applications and software such as databases and deep neural networks. They also learn essential digital security practices, the mindset of malicious threat actors, and how to analyse, mitigate, prevent and recover from modern cyber security attacks.
This Ofqual regulated qualification is at RQF Level 5, which OTHM rates as equivalent to a Higher National Diploma (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor's degree. It comprises six mandatory units totalling 120 credits.

Entry Requirements
• Typically aged 18 and above
• Relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualification
• GCE Advanced level in 3 subjects or equivalent qualification
• Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme)
English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency (CEFR B2 or IELTS 5.5 or equivalent). Courses 4U will assess English language proficiency if it is not your native language.
Certification
The Diploma is issued by OTHM, the awarding organisation. Courses 4U is an Accredited Centre for OTHM qualifications and the Centre Number is DC2009448. See a sample certificate issued by OTHM. Please note that OTHM does not issue printed certificates but an e-certificate, to avoid piracy and forgery. As a learner, you can order a printed version from the OTHM portal on receiving the details.
Progressions
Successful completion of the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Cyber Security gives learners a wide range of academic progression options.
As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners are eligible to gain direct entry into the final year of a three-year UK Bachelor's degree. For more information visit the OTHM University Progressions page.

Assessment
All units within this qualification are assessed and internally quality assured by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. A judgment that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the assessor. Specific assessment guidance and relevant marking criteria for each unit are made available in the Assignment Brief document.
The assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgment of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
Enrolment Process
Step 1: Complete the Online Enrolment form
Kindly upload - Proof of identity (Passport or Photo Drivers Licence), previous qualifications, CV and work experience letters if applicable for exemption or Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL).
Step 2: Course 4 U will issue a Conditional Offer Letter
The offer letter has details of the Bank payment and how to make payment online via the secure sage pay system.
Step 3: Registration with awarding organisation
As the registration process is completed, several emails to set up the course logins will be sent within the hour.
Step 4: Online Induction
Induction, course discussion and demonstration to Learner Management System (LMS)
